Pennant Update and Conditions of Play

by Team BV

Metropolitan Pennant

While we are still working towards the planned season start date of 16th October, the current lockdown has meant we are also looking at alternative season schedules, of which there are various scenarios drafted. The Draws can now be found on Metro Pennant section on our website, or by clicking the buttons below.

However, please be advised that draws and sections may change before any start to the season, pending clubs’ response to any potential change in scheduling.

In the event that 16th October is not achievable to kick off our season, we will be working towards a schedule that allows for the full season to take place.

Based on the above, we would ask any club that can foresee a change to their pennant entry to advise us as soon as possible. Once the season has commenced we will be flexible with side amendments and will waive any penalties.

Vaccination & the Bowls Community

We are currently fielding a large number of enquiries on this topic, and we ask for your patience. We can advise that while there has been no formal advice from State Government on this topic yet, we do expect that there may be State Government legislation mandating vaccinations for community sport, released in the coming weeks. We will continue to provide updates on this as new information comes to hand, and we will support the implementation of any such legislation.

Victorian Open

We remain optimistic and are working towards the Vic Open going ahead as planned, from 19th – 26th November. We understand bowlers are very keen to get back out and bowling and are looking forward to this event. Discussions with State Government and the Greater Shepparton City Council, as well as monitoring of the current COVID situation in Shepparton, will continue over the coming weeks. An update will be provided by mid-September.
