Australian Indoor Qualifying

The Indoor Singles Championship is open to all male and female bowlers affiliated with Bowls Victoria and is the state qualifying event for the Australian Indoor Singles Championship, 17-20 August 2020 at Tweed Heads Bowls Club, NSW.


Event Dates: Saturday 16th May and Sunday 17th May (Finals)

Optional Date (Entries Dependant): Saturday 23rd May

Bowls Victoria are required by Bowls Australia to provide 8 Male & 4 Female qualifiers to participate in the 2020 Australian Indoor Singles (August 17-20 at Tweed Heads Bowls Club).

Qualifiers will be required to cover the costs, including travel, meals and accommodation, in winning through to the BA National Finals.

Bowls Victoria will administer the following Sectional Play & Knockouts on Saturday May 16 and Sunday May 17 to submit qualifiers for the Nationals in August. Please note, if a large amount of entries are received, Saturday May 23 may be used as a backup day.

Please note: The venue you select with your registration must receive enough entries to host on May 16, otherwise, if not enough entries are received you may be re-allocated to play at a different venue.

Entries Close: Sunday April 5 @ 11:59pm

Draw Released: Thursday April 9 @ 12 Noon

Entry Fee: $25.00 (incl GST). Additional Daily Green Fee will be charged by individual Host Clubs.

Cost: Players responsible for own travel, accommodation and meals. Meals may be available for purchase depending on the venue.

Format: Four bowls Sets Play: Two Sets of 9 ends, if tied at 1 set each then a tiebreak of 3 ends is to be played. The winner will be the player scoring the most shots over the 3 ends of the tiebreak. If the shot scores tied after the third end of the tie-breaker, the players must play a 4th end tie-breaker to decide the winner.

Section Play: Sections of 3. Players will be marking.

Subsequent Play: Knockout Sets Play – As per the above conditions.
