Seeking Playing Club Coach
The St Leonards Bowling Club situated on the Bellarine Peninsula, is seeking expressions of interest in the position of Playing Club Coach for the 2024/2025 season.
It is expected the Club Coach will spend approximately 4 hours per week planning and attending training sessions for our pennant players and consult with and provide guidance to our club coaches and selectors. This role will report to the Bowls Committee.
The club has two Tiger Turf synthetic greens and we currently field 6 Saturday Pennant sides and 5 sides in the Midweek competition. Our top sides in both competitions will be in Division 1 in the Geelong Bowls Region Pennant competition. We have in excess of 100 affiliated bowlers registered with the Club.
The Club has one selection committee which currently meets weekly during the pennant season.
Our main training/ practice session will be established in consultation with the successful applicant.
The successful applicant will be accredited or willing to undertake accreditation and will be responsible for helping us to:
- Improve our pennant performances,
- Improve our coaching and selection expertise,
- Devise and present a structured bowls development program,
- Develop and implement coaching programs for members and new bowlers, with a focus on team development, the role in a team and game plans,
- Improve player skills and knowledge of the game, as well as enjoyment of the game, and
- Provide both group and individual coaching.
