⚡ THE VIC LIGHTNING ⚡
Each season our Women’s team contest a series of interstate Test matches.
The Test Series competition culminates with all States and Territories taking each other on at the Australian National Sides Championship.
The introduction in 2021 of the City v Country women’s and men’s events now serves as a new format state team trial system, after which the state selectors release the team who will play in each Test Series. All players selected to participate in City v Country receive a numbered ‘cap’ in recognition of their selection.

DEVELOPMENT SQUAD
Originally conceived for maturing junior players as a pathway to the Open State Side, the Development Squads have not competed for several years. The format is designed for participants to display their skills in a variety of positions and disciplines. The Arnold O’Brien Trophy, named for our Victorian Hall of Fame inductee, is competed between Victoria and NSW.
