Pennant is a league format of bowls played at clubs across Victoria and is administered by Bowls Victoria, together with Regions and Divisions.
Each week, 160 Metropolitan clubs and close to 13,000 players go head-to-head in various divisions around Melbourne. The 18-week season runs from October to March each year and comprises of weekend and mid-week competitions.
Premier Division is the pinnacle competition, with Divisions 1 through 7 below. The Premier Division winners and Division 1 winners progress to Champion of State Pennant, which is contested at Moama Bowls Club in May each year which sees Metro and Regional winners gather to vie for the prestigious state title.
Regional Pennant is administered by Bowls Victoria’s Regions and Divisions with the season running at various lengths between August to March each year, and also comprises of midweek and weekend competitions.

Due to the late season commencement in 2020/21 and the large number of changes to divisions, sections, side withdrawals and additions, this season’s Conditions of Play have been a constant work in progress.
