Bowls Victoria partners with All Ready Safe
Bowls Victoria is pleased to announce our most recent partnership with All Ready Safe.
All Ready Safe are a Victorian based fire and emergency response business, who have partnered with Bowls Victoria to help clubs protect the safety of employees and volunteers, who make our sport great.
The following advice from WorkSafe Victoria, emphasizes the need for community service clubs like bowls clubs, to adhere to best practice standards and procedures:
All community service organisations with employees have obligations to protect the health and safety of both employees and volunteers under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (OHS Act).
Other community service organisations (non-staff & volunteer managed) that have no obligation under the OHS Act should also meet the same standards to protect their volunteers (and other occupants) from harm.
Both employees and volunteers are legally entitled to a healthy and safe working environment. The best way to manage the health and safety of volunteers is to treat volunteers as paid employees, for example, by providing volunteers with the same risk and safety assessments as paid employees.
Bowls Victoria is committed to developing strong and resilient clubs who apply best practice governance, to ensure bowlers, staff, volunteers and visitors safely enjoy what bowls has to offer.
Through our partnership with All Ready Safe, we are aware that a large number of clubs may not be compliant with Australian fire and emergency response standards.
All Ready Safe has been engaged to provide Australian Standard AS3745-2010 compliant fire and emergency response services and expertise to Clubs. Their services will include:
- Emergency Evacuation Diagrams
- Emergency Response Procedures
- Emergency Response Guidance and Training
For bowls clubs with no paid staff, Bowls Victoria has negotiated a special offer package starting at $795 inc. GST. This special price represents a saving of more than 35%.
For bowls clubs with staff employed onsite, All Ready Safe will liaise directly with them to determine individual needs and costs.
All Ready Safe will be in contact with clubs in the near future to survey each club on their level of compliance.
