Juniors crowned at the Ted King Memorial Tournament

by Team BV

Difficult weather conditions didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of junior bowlers converging in the small town of Strathmerton to compete in the 12th annual Ted King Memorial Tournament over the weekend, Jan 4th and 5th. A field of 40 young bowlers from all over Victoria attended the event, with Bowls Victoria entering two development teams representing the Under-18 State Squad.

The Ted King is popular amongst young bowlers, being one of few two day junior tournaments where players compete in all disciplines (Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours) for accumulated points.

Apart from the Winners and runners up awards, prizes were awarded for best games in all disciplines. An additional award is given to the player showing outstanding sportsmanship, etiquette and team work. The personality prize was awarded to Charlie Boswell.

The tournament is hosted annually by the Murray Kraze development squad in the Murray Bowls area. Organisers would like to thank Moama Bowling club for their ongoing sponsorship of this fantastic event.

Winners: Jarryd Davies, Tyson Cromie, Koby Cromie and Sophie Kurzman

Runners Up: Emilee Davies, Olivia Slade, Jordyn Long and Olivia Cartwright
