Blind Bowls Championships wraps up
The Blind Bowls Championships wrapped up in Perth in what was a successful week on the green for Victoria.
Victoria finished second in the overall rankings on 10.00 after being just edged out by Queensland on a points average of 10.40 to win the Le Mans Trophy. Victorian bowlers received a runner-up medal for their efforts.
Maree Fenech won the Best Individual Female Bowler and the Best Overall Individual Performance Trophy, plus two gold medals and a silver. Ivan Shortis won a gold medal in the B2 Men’s Singles, and Lisa Condy won a gold medal in the B2 Women’s Singles. Margaret Rosewall was unfortunately injured during the event but continued like a true Victorian.
There are now four Victorians in the Australian squad which will be finalised later in the year.
