Why do we love bowls? Because it’s a game for all ages!
Jim Stapleton (105) nine-year-old Jacob Brighton (9) play together in Saturday Pennant. Last month, the dynamic duo from the City of Echuca Bowls Club, played in the same rink in Division 5 of the Campaspe Valley Bowls Division pennant competition.
Jim was leading, and Jacob played second. Their rink and side did not win, but they both played quality shots and pushed the opposition all the way. After the match, Jim celebrated in his usual way by playing his mouth organ.
This week the pair featured on the ABC last night and truly prove that age and ability is no barrier when it comes to the wonderful sport of bowls.
