Victoria is proudly the State of Pennant.
Pennant competition is the lifeblood of our game. The beating heart of bowls in this state.
Bowls Victoria wants to highlight some of the great Pennant stories regularly throughout the season, from Pennant competitions right around the state.
And we need your help. We want bowlers, Clubs, Regions and Divisions, to let us know about the great stories going on throughout the 2016-17 season.
Heads Up tested the waters with two State of Pennant articles and picture galleries during last season’s finals. You can see them here and here to give you an idea of what we’re trying to achieve.
This year Bowls Victoria wants to expand on that, and give more coverage of Pennant stories from all around the state right throughout the season.
If you have pics of your team in action, or interesting stories, statistics, successes and snippets as they happen during the season, please email them to us at Bowls Victoria on bowlsvic@bowlsvic.org.au
We can then highlight the best regularly on both the Bowls Victoria website www.bowlsvic.org.au or in our fortnightly e-newsletter Heads Up, which you can subscribe to here if you haven’t already. You’ll then get the best in Victorian bowls in your email inbox every second Friday – free.
We’re also keen to see more of your Pennant pictures and snippets on social media.
Use the hashtag #stateofpennant when you post pictures of your team in action, or any of those interesting stories, statistics, successes and snippets from your Pennant season.
We’ll highlight the best via our social media pages and feeds on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+
And as we did last year, we’ll also be highlighting the great Pennant coverage from local mainstream media outlets every week via Bowls Victoria’s social media outlets to keep everyone in the loop.
Bowls Victoria’s website now includes links to Region and Division websites on our Pennant page here . That way you can go straight to your local competition for fixture and result information, if your Region or Division provide it. You’ll also find all Metropolitan Pennant information on the same page under the relevant section.
