Young Sea Lake BC Member Selected to Victorian Bowls Under 18 Gold Squad
Brody and his parents, Linda and Craig Harker of Sea Lake, have received notification that Brody has been selected to the Victorian Under 18 Bowls Gold Squad. Brody’s selection followed numerous ‘observation’ days conducted by Bowls Victoria in an attempt to find the best of a bountiful crop of young bowlers from across the State. Over the weekend of May 22-23, Brody attended the final of this series of trials in Bendigo and shortly thereafter, he received the news that he had dreamed of since beginning his campaign for selection to the State side – he had cemented a place in the top eight of the 16 member boys Gold squad. Amazingly, there was more to come. Brody has now been advised that he is to attend the Australian Championship Selection Trials to be held in Shepparton over the weekend of June 27 and 28. It is here that he will be vying for a highly contested place to compete in the National Under 18 Championships to be held in Canberra in September. Brody is well known – and highly regarded – by bowlers in the Tyrrell Bowls Division and Murray Mallee Region. He is not only a talented bowler, but a genuinely popular young man who will prove a worthy ambassador for his family, his local Sea Lake Club, his District and Region, his School and his State of Victoria. Well done, Brody, on your selection to the Bowls Victoria Under 18 Gold Squad, and best wishes for your endeavours for selection to the National Under 18 team.
Under 18 Females nominated for the National Trials are, Kira Bourke, Tiffany Brodie, Amelia Bruggy, Mikayla Long, Tayla Morison, Natasha Russell, Lisa Trewarne and Eve Van Rhine. The males invited to trial are Jayden Christie, Joshua Corless, Curtis Hanley, Brody Harker, Riley Hodgson, Alex Skilton, Todd Trewarne and Jordan Yates. Good luck to all players.

Bowls Victoria – Volunteer of the Year Award
It’s great that information is coming in to Bowls Victoria referring to details of Club Nominations for the Volunteer of the Year Award. Hopefully the Nomination documentation required is being forwarded through to the Regions to enable them to consider their Region Volunteer of the Year, to then be considered for the Bowls Victoria Club Volunteer of the Year Award to be announced at the Bowls Victoria AGM in October 2015. We’ve been encouraging and promoting this for a number of weeks now and as we have now moved into the month of June, it won’t be long and the closing date for nominations of 30 June with the Regions and notification of Club Awardee details to Bowls Victoria will be here. Full details of how the Volunteer of the Year program operates can be referred to by clicking this link to the Bowls Victoria website.
Club Information Returns
We want to remind everyone that in order for Bowls Victoria to produce its Annual Information Guide and to ensure all our information is up-to-date we request that all clubs please take a small amount of time to fill in the online form listing office holders and information about their club.In excess of 170 have provided updated information to Bowls Victoria, so that still leaves a fair number needing to please address this request. We appreciate that many clubs are efficient and inform us of their up-to-date information but ask that they please still fill in this form as it allows us to collate the relevant information in an efficient way. Please ensure if your club has not already submitted this information to do so as soon as possible to ensure that the Information Guide does not go to print with old information which we suspect will not be appreciated by outgoing office holders. The link to the survey is here – please fill it in as soon as possible and thanks for your assistance.
