Whitehead joins the BV team
Bowls Victoria is excited to announce the appointment of Jimmy (James) Whitehead to the role of Events and Competitions Manager.
A very good bowler and former Bowls Australia RBM, Jimmy will be known to many in Victoria given his previous role. Prior to his role as an RBM, Jimmy was the Bowls Coordinator at Sunbury Bowls Club after spending time in Marketing/HR fields.
Jimmy jumped straight into his role with a friendly message to clubs.
On green – Jimmy has bowled for almost 20 years and is more than handy, having represented his County in the UK in ‘Crown-green bowls’ on many occasions.
He moved to Australia 13 years ago and reignited his love of bowls some years back, joining Albert Park where he won the Club Pairs title. Jimmy now plays at the formidable Melbourne Bowls Club, where he has been a member for the past couple of years.
Jimmy is well-respected by all the clubs in his RBM region, providing support to clubs to enable their growth. He has a particular interest in BowlsLink and assisting clubs which will be invaluable in his role as Events and Competitions Manager.
“I’m excited to join BV and am really keen to sink my teeth into the Events and Competitions Manager role” said Whitehead.
“I know what the players want and am very keen for BV events and competitions to be improved to better suit the needs and wants of players”.
