Tiny Tawonga has man of the moment

by Team BV

Every club needs a David McDonough.
Especially when your club only has 15 members.
Tawonga BC in the Ovens and Murray Region is lucky to have Mr McDonough as a volunteer.
He was presented with his 2015 regional volunteer of the year award by Bowls Victoria President John Fisher recently, after Mr McDonough was unable to attend October’s annual presentation in Melbourne.
Mr McDonough is the club’s greenkeeper who also chases sponsorships for the club, and actively runs many tournaments.
He is also an accomplished bowler, winning numerous club singles titles and representing the club in Champion of Champion events.
“In essence, David is the lifeblood of the club,” his nominee says.
“I cannot think of any other individual in the region who would be a worthier candidate.”
Bowls Victoria will again run a Volunteer of the Year award for 2016. Clubs are welcome to nominate worthy candidates for the regional award to their region or division.
From the regional winners, a statewide winner will be chosen.
