Vic v SA U18 Test – Day 1
Honours were even on Day 1 of Victoria’s 2017 Under 18 Test series against South Australia, with the Vics winning the girls’ first Test and SA triumphant in the boys.
On a warm day, but in ideal conditions at Sunbury Bowling Club, the Victorian girls ran out 3-1 winners.
Mikayla Long was a winner on her home green in the girls’ singles, while a big girls triples win to Emma Simmonds (Mildura), Lisa Trewarne (Sunbury) and skip Long was another highlight.
In the boys, Victoria had three debutants – Max Rowley (Inglewood BC), Kyle Kraus (Mulgrave CC) and Brad Pavey (Leopold Sportsman’s).
All showed promise on their State debut, with Rowley and Kraus featuring with Lachlan Morison (Melbourne) in the Vics’ only win for the day in the boys triples.
The series continues with the second and third Tests on Wednesday, January 11 and Thursday, January 12 at Sunbury.
