Vics within sight of Alley Shield
The equation is simple for Victoria’s men.
Win their final Australian Sides Championships match against Tasmania, and they will have won the Alley Shield for the first time in 14 years.
Victoria put one hand on the prestigious trophy with two more victories on Day 3 of the round-robin tournament at Queanbeyan, beating Northern Territory 73-41 and Western Australia 55-45 to leave the Victorians unbeaten in six matches.
Already the Vics had beaten defending champions NSW on day two, and the other major title fancies Queensland on the opening day.
Victoria’s women are officially out of contention to win the women’s title after losing 62-50 to Western Australia on Day 3.
