Victoria’s under 18 nationals team selected
Australian Open form and Trans-Tasman glory provide the basis for the Victorian under 18 team selected for September’s national championships in Canberra.
Jayden Christie (Werribee) and Tiff Brodie (Fitzroy Victoria) will take the singles spots in the 10-bowler team for the under-18 nationals at Tuggeranong Bowling Club from September 28 to 30.
Christie and Brodie excelled in senior competition at the Australian Open in June.
Christie made the final 16 at the Open, while Brodie made the women’s singles quarter-finals as well as winning the hearing impaired women’s singles final.
Their Victorian teammates who will play the pairs, triples and fours are the majority of the state side which represented Victoria in the 3-0 Test series victory over New Zealand visitors Wellington at Shepparton Park in July.
