Hoppers seeking Playing Coach
Hoppers Bowls Club (HBC) is currently seeking expressions of interest for a playing Coach to join the Club for the upcoming 2026/27 season and beyond.
We are seeking a highly passionate and motivated playing coach to improve and lead the club into the future.
Background.
Located in the Metro West Bowls Region we field four teams in the weekend pennant competition and four teams in the midweek pennant competition.
We have one tiff grass green and one synthetic green and full access to the Hoppers Club’s facilities.
This position is for the club playing coach, who will be responsible for developing new and experienced players, providing a coordinated approach to coaching across the Club and fostering good team relationships.
The Position.
While a coaching qualification is helpful, it is not a prerequisite for the role. The applicant must have the ability to play for our club in the top pennant team.
You will be able to engage with members of all ages and divisions and be very approachable and friendly for the role.
This role will also require your input in the selection of Pennant Teams.
Requirements of the role include
- Deliver weekly training sessions for pennant players throughout the season
- Organise and conduct specialised coaching sessions aimed at skill development and performance improvement
- Promote the club within the wider community
- Assist with recruiting new players
- Help attract, develop, and retain players to ensure sustained growth, competitiveness, and a positive club culture
- Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills
Remuneration
Remuneration will be negotiated based on the successful applicant’s experience, availability, and level of commitment.
HBC is open to discussing a multi-year arrangement with the right candidate. There may also be opportunities for additional employment within the club for interested applicants.
