East Shepparton seeking Playing Coach

East Shepparton Bowls Club (ESBC) is seeking expressions of interest to fill its coaching position for the upcoming 2026/27 season. We are seeking a highly motivated playing coach with experience playing in high- level pennant (division 1 or premier) to improve and lead our club moving forward.

Located in the Goulburn Murray Bowls Region we field three teams in the Week-end Competition as well as four teams in the Mid-week competition.

We have three excellent synthetic greens and a world class under cover green providing the ability to play and train all year round.

This position is for the Club Playing Coach, who will be responsible for developing, running and overseeing the coaching program in consultation with the Board. The role will focus on leadership, coaching, training and support for their members

Role Description

• This position reports to the Chair of the Lawn Bowls Section and the Club’s Sports Coordinator and Community Liaison Officer
• The role of the Club’s Coach is to develop new and experienced players, provide a coordinated approach to coaching across the Club and foster good team relationships.
• While a coaching qualification is helpful, it is not a pre-requisite for the role. The applicant must have the ability to play for our club in the top pennant team.
• You should be able to engage with members of all ages and divisions and be very approachable and friendly for the role.
• This role also sees you bowling at our Club in Saturday Pennant, participating in the selection of Pennant Teams.
• Requirements of the role include excellent communication skills.
• Conducting weekly training sessions for all pennant players throughout the pennant season.
• Arranging and leading special training sessions for skill enhancement and competency improvement as needed.
• Promoting the club to the wider community when applicable.
• Assisting with player recruitment and have an ability to attract and retain players ensuring sustained culture, growth and competitiveness.
