Yarra Glen seeking Coach and Bowls Coordinator
Yarra Glen Bowls Club is seeking expressions of interest for a coach and bowls coordinator for the 2025/26 season.
Position overview:
To oversee the club’s Pennant Bowls program to members and Social Bowls community activities of the Yarra Glen Bowls Club (YGBC).
This will include administration of pennant, social bowls and the club’s coaching program. You will need to work with the Club’s board and attend monthly board meetings. You may also be required to attend Selection Committee meetings as needed.
Main duties:
- Overall responsibility for pennant bowls activities, including arranging for pennant day green readiness and paperwork (cards, managers kits, Bowlslink updates), managing volunteers to assist in setup and pack up after games (weekend and mid-week)
- Organise and oversee the club’s Wednesday Charity Corporate Bowls Competition (12 weeks)
- Co-ordinate Club Championship entries, draws, and game schedules
- Assist the board to develop and encourage local community groups to participate in bowls.
- Comply with all reasonable requests made from time to time by the President, Board Members and Greenkeeper.
Coaching and playing commitment to Yarra Glen Bowls Club:
- Work together with all club coaches to develop a program of coaching sessions and organised practice games prior to and during the season (August to March).
- Club Representation (Pennant, Region, State and National events etc.).
- Bowls Functions attendance and coaching.
Ideal qualifications and experience:
- Current driver’s license
- Victorian RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol)
- WWC (Working with Children Card)
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite of products
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Held a similar role at another bowls club
- Other Management or Sport based coordination/coaching roles.
