Greenline Commences Construction on Caulfield Park Sports Club’s ‘Park Dome’
A Game-Changer for Lawn Bowls in Australia.
Greenline is proud to announce the commencement of construction on a ground-breaking new project: the Caulfield Park Sports Club’s ‘Park Dome’. This cutting-edge facility will redefine the bowling experience, integrating player-focused innovations to set a new benchmark in Australia’s sporting infrastructure.
A Facility designed with bowlers in mind
Designed in collaboration with Caulfield Park Sports Club, the new Park Dome will be Australia’s first truly bowler-first destination. Every element of the structure has been developed with player experience in mind, ensuring an optimal environment for competition, training, and community engagement.
Key features include:
- Integrated climate control – advanced fan systems to ensure player comfort, even on the hottest and stillest days.
- Specialised lighting – premium-quality lighting will provide full illumination across the green, unmatched in Australia.
- Integrated sound system – high quality sound system for live streaming, music, and public announcements.
- 200” outdoor digital screen – future-proofed facilities with large-scale digital display capabilities.
- Enhanced accessibility – a blue carpet surface offering greater contrast for visually impaired bowlers.
- State-of-the-art scoreboards – main scoreboard and rink mini-screens displaying player names, live scores, and event promotions.
- Advanced video streaming – multiple fixed cameras and a Skywalker system to enable seamless live streaming of up to three games simultaneously.
Greenline’s expertise in design and construction coordination has been instrumental in bringing these elements together seamlessly. The integration of multiple high-tech features required meticulous planning, particularly in managing the complex network of cables and ensuring a streamlined, unobtrusive installation.

Overcoming unique challenges
Delivering this project has involved navigating several challenges, from a high water table and sandy soil conditions requiring driven pile footings to a complex approvals process that required multiple design revisions to meet VCAT requirements. Additionally, restricted site access due to the proximity of existing structures and boundaries required careful logistical coordination with the local council.
“Greenline is focused on designing and constructing user-first facilities. Working with Caulfield Park Sports Club to ensure that the structure we designed and are constructing elevates the bowler experience and supports the Club, its members, and the wider community is a great privilege.”
