Senior Side Selection Pathway

Bowls Victoria has consolidated the State Senior Side selection pathway, consistent with the approach implemented for the State Open Side, which recognises the ample opportunities for players to achieve notable results and come to the attention of Selectors without the need for a Side-specific trial.
Consistent with the State Selection Policy, performances in the following events and championships will help inform Selectors:
- Metropolitan and Regional Pennant
- Region Sides
- Victorian Open
- State Championships
- O60 State Carnival
- State Side practice matches
- Other major events, eg Australian Open
Bowls Victoria will no longer conduct a one-off trial day as part of the State Senior Side selection process.
The State Senior Side will be finalised shortly after the conclusion of the O60 State Carnival.
A selected Side will compete in an intra-State practice match on Sunday 21st July, and a three-Test Series versus NSW in SYDNEY from August 5th-7th, before a final Side is selected for the Australian Senior Sides Championships to compete at the 2024 Nationals in October.
