Open Side Announced for NSW Series

Bowls Victoria is pleased to announce the State Open Side selected to compete in the upcoming five-Test Series against New South Wales in Warilla, NSW in August.

The Lightning includes one debutant, Nicole McKenzie, and also sees the return of Jodie Fruend. The Thunder also includes one debutant in Tyson Cromie, while two players return after a State Side hiatus, Brad Holland and Anthony Flapper.
The Lightning and Thunder will have a practice match against the State Senior Side at Club Sunbury on Saturday, 22 July. The Senior Side is the reigning Australian Champions having dropped only one match at The Nationals in 2022.
The outstanding Squad members remain in contention for the WA Series and The Nationals, and will be engaged in further State Side activities off the green between now and October.
The State Program for the 2023-24 Open Side representative season is:
- State Side Practice Match: 22nd July, Club Sunbury, VIC.
- State Side Series: 4th – 6th August, Warilla, NSW.
- State Side Series: 14th – 16th September, Sorrento, WA.
- The Nationals: 12th – 17th October, Sorrento, WA.
