Bowls Victoria appoints Mark Casey to Board

Bowls Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Casey (OAM) to the Board, taking up the casual vacancy position.

Having dedicated his life to bowls, Mark brings with him an exceptional resume working within and for the development of our sport, in Australia and globally.

Having first picked up a bowl at the age of five, Mark progressed through the ranks becoming a high-performance athlete in club, state and national teams. His passion for the sport evolved into a career in bowls administration, coaching, event management and more recently the establishment the world-leading Ultimate Bowls (UBC) event, bringing together players and team owners from around the globe.

A highlight of Mark’s career in bowls was his appointment as the Lawn Bowls Manager with the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Corporation, from 2016 – 2018. In this role Mark was responsible for the overall coordination of the bowls competition at the Commonwealth Games, delivering the most outstanding bowls competition in the history of the Commonwealth Games.

Mark is currently employed as Head of Bowls Operations at Deer Park Club, as well as Chief Executive Officer/Director of Ultimate Bowls Pty Ltd.

Mark’s bowls achievements include:

  • 292 games for Australia
  • 280+ State Representative matches
  • Commonwealth Games
    – 2006 Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist
    – 2010 Commonwealth Games Silver Medallist
  • World Championships
    – 2002 World U/25 Singles Champion
    – 2005 World Cup Singles Champion
    – 2008 World Fours Champion
  • First Australian male to win a Commonwealth Games Gold and a World Championships Gold


In addition to his on-field achievements, Mark is an Order of Australia Medal recipient and Bowls Australia Hall of Fame inductee.
