BV x Pancare Unite For Hope

by Melanie Allen

The Bowls Vic staff are pumped to be taking part in Pancare’s Unite for Hope event on Sunday 24th October. Every year, Pancare asks people to get together to walk or run, for a purpose. This year due to the current COVID landscape, the in-person event has been cancelled. BUT you can still take part in your own community and ‘Do it Your Way’.

We want you to join the BV Team!

The staff at BV have set a fundraising goal of $2,500. Registration is just $20.00 and takes only a minute. Join the BV Team so we can show what the bowls community is made of, and help to support the funding of much needed research. In fact, imagine if every one of our Victorian member clubs had just one of your members join in, who then got just one $50 donation, think of how much we collectively we might be able to raise, not only in dollars, but also in awareness.

We know as a bowls community we can smash our fundraising goal, so although we’ve set ourselves a goal of $2,500 we know we can do better!

In conjunction with BV taking part in the Unite for Hope event, Bowls Victoria is pleased to formally announce our new partnership with the Pancare Foundation. This leading charity is committed to inspiring hope, raising awareness, supporting families and funding research for upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. Pancare’s mission is to improve survival rates and increase quality care and support for the 12,400 Australians diagnosed with pancreatic, liver, stomach, biliary and oesophageal cancers each year.

We will share more information about this important partnership down the track, which will include unique events, promotions and merchandise, and more!

So, Unite for Hope, at your pace, your place, your way.

Please get involved and register today. You are joining a campaign to eliminate these cancers that dramatically affect so many Australians.

Sadly, due to the ever-evolving COVID landscape, Pancare has made the difficult decision to cancel their in-person Unite for Hope gatherings scheduled for Sunday 24 October 2021. Instead, with your help, Pancare will create a momentum that will see many, many thousands of Australians Uniting for Hope in the own communities, in their own back yards.

The ‘Do it Your Way’ format will still take place on Sunday 24 October 2021.  So take a stroll, sprint or marathon – whatever pace that suits you – in a Covid safe way in your local area.  Your pace, your place, your way! Please get involved and register today. You are joining a campaign to eliminate these cancers that dramatically affect so many Australians.
