Bowls Victoria is excited to announce the appointment of Francesca (Frankie) Hocking to the role of Participation Coordinator.

The Participation Coordinator role – primarily responsible for initiatives made possible by the generous support of VicHealth and Sport and Recreation Victoria – is a key role in ensuring the growth of our sport. Responsibilities in growing the game, inclusion, juniors, schools and successful programs such as Bowling with Babies and Roll-up are all managed by the Participation team.

Working alongside our current Participation Coordinator Josh Thornton, Frankie brings a very valuable skillset and experience to the role which will forge a formidable duo.

“My passion in sport is to be a part of the change that is needed to make our communities and schools more active and uphold a positive healthy lifestyle” said Hocking.

“As part of my career in sport I have always tried to be a role model and deliver positive messages regarding sport and active lifestyle including healthy eating, creating friendships and developing leadership skills through sport.”

Holding a Bachelor of Science (Sports and Physical Education), Hocking has always valued the team environment, having had the distinction of representing England in football and more recently turned her hand to AFL since relocating to Australia some years ago.

Her experience working in multiple sport and leisure industries, along with teaching across both Primary and High School ages saw her gain the role at Bowls Victoria.

“My beliefs and passions are to make sport more accessible and available to all; people with disabilities, underprivileged communities and multi-cultural communities.” said Hocking.

Bowls Victoria congratulates Frankie on her appointment and wishes her well in the new role. She commenced on Friday 19th February 2021.
