50 years of pennant bowls
Les Hinchcliffe is the ultimate one-club man.
His 50 years of playing pennant bowls has all been at Ringwood Bowls Club in Melbourne’s east. He’s still playing today.
Les has been club champion eight times, and another eight times runner-up.
Six pairs titles and a fours championship as well, and for many years he has held voluntary and committee roles with the club.
It is only in the last couple of years that Les has had a bowling arm to assist with his bowls and he still plays effective and winning shots with or without his bowling arm.
Les is a grandfather of three, and great-grandfather of eight.
His amazing achievement of reaching 50 years of pennant bowls at Ringwood is being celebrated at his very proud club this month.
