Arm Bowling National Championships Go To Queensland in 2016!
Trial Dates for Bowls Victoria State Representative Team Set.
The 2016 Arm National Championships will be held at Broadbeach BC at Surfers Paradise from the 5th -7th September 2016 as a result of Queensland entering the Championships.
Announcing the date and venue BV Director and State Arm Coordinator Phil Gude said, ”The event has a new venue, and additional State participating, and one less competitor per side which should help even the States up somewhat”. ”We are expecting a very tough event but will be striving to make it four in a row if possible”, he said.
Trial Dates have been set aside for Sunday 3rd and Sunday 24th April and are listed in the Arm Bowling Schedule on the Bowls Victoria website.
Bowls Victoria Chief Executive Graeme Bridge said, ”The arm selectors have obviously done a great job over past years to get triple wins at the National Championships and they will no doubt be looking for outstanding performances at events across the board this season to extend invitations to trial for the State Side”.
Phil Gude also stated, “The selectors are particularly interested in players who perform well in events that showcase two bowls where triples are played and also Regional and State standout performances in open company as they have done in past years”.
Graeme Bridge further stated, “From Bowls Victoria’s perspective we wish everyone well in their individual endeavours to make the team and let’s hope the Armed Vics can make it four wins in a row in their National Championship”.
