Four get 90-year-old certificates at Benalla BC
Four of Benalla Bowls Club’s members have all shared a special day – all receiving certificates for reaching the age of 90.
Milton Gregory, Joan Fluck, Jack Lemin and Doug McFadzean all were presented with their certificates at Benalla BC’s 2015 President’s Day and Opening Day by Ovens and Murray Bowls Victoria regional representative Graham Moore, and club president Bob McLarty.
Club member Col Levy also earned his 50-year bowling award but was unable to receive his certificates, while Maureen Joyce and Milan Knezevic both received their Super Veterans Badge.
More than 90 bowlers, life members and special guests attended Benalla BC’s President’s Day and Opening Day, opened by the Mayor of Benalla, Councillor Justin King.
Ladies champion Gail Banfield and Karen Nicholls, representing her late husband Gary who was the club’s men’s champion, were given the honour of putting the first jack and bowls down to begin the 2015-16 season.
