NTC squad for 2015-16 announced
Australian Open quarter-finalist Tiffany Brodie and last year’s Victorian Open Vic Medallist Brad Orr are among Victoria’s new additions to the National Training Centre squad for 2015-16.
Brodie, 17, from Fitzroy Victoria and 24-year-old Orr (Shepparton Golf) have been promoted to the combined Victoria/Tasmania squad.
Last year’s national under 18 squad members Natasha Russell (Clayton), Troy Mansbridge (Bundoora) and Nathan Lynch (Moonee Valley) have also been named in the NTC squad.
They are among 86 of the sport’s most talented players confirmed by Bowls Australia as members of the state-based National Training Centre program.
Overseen by national coach Steve Glasson, the NTC squads serve as a feeder program for the top tier Australian Jackaroos, with the identified players earmarked as potential future national representatives.
Victoria/Tasmania’s NTC coach is Mark Cowan – one of five NTC coaches nationally who help provide the players with invaluable support to further their careers.
As well as 12 Victorians, six Tasmanian players have been named in the squad.
