So affected has Wodonga Bowling Club been by the issue of brain cancer, it has channelled its energies into raising money on its Opening Day this season.
Wodonga will hold a Combined Opening and Brain Cancer Research Charity Day on Sunday, September 13, with Open Triples being played.

The event will run from 10am to 3pm, and the club is looking for support from bowlers throughout the Ovens and Murray region and the Riverina.
“The club also has two members that have been seriously affected by brain cancer. One lost a daughter to the condition many years ago, and currently our club treasurer has been going through a tough time with treatment, and is by no means “out of the woods”,” club board chairman David Broad says.

Entry is $12 per person, and includes continuously available barbecue and salad.
