Government funding option for bowls clubs

by Team BV

Bowls Victoria urges clubs to apply for their share of a $100 million Victorian Government investment in grassroots sport.
The Community Sports Infrastructure Fund aims to support the development of high quality, accessible community sport and recreation facilities across Victoria, with a focus on increasing participation of all Victorians.
Key for bowls clubs are grants available under the Minor Facilities category of the guidelines – grants of up to $100,000 for projects with a total project cost up to $1 million.
Bowls Victoria Chief Executive Graeme Bridge says: “These opportunities can enable clubs to consider their current situation in regards to their playing surfaces, and of particular note sports lighting installations that can enhance further participation prospects for bowls.
“The Sports Minister has gone on the record and stated: ‘This program reflects a major commitment from Government to health, well-being and community sport as well as boosting the capacity of communities to attract and host local and regional competitions and events.’
“Local clubs should be the winners from this announcement with the funding initiatives on offer.”
For a chance to access the funding, bowls clubs will need to contact their Regional Bowls Manager, and apply for the grants via their local council.
