Local clubs welcome Malaysian visitors

by Team BV

The next time you see some of these faces on Australian soil, it may be playing at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
A visiting under 21 side from Labuan, Malaysia, has been enjoyed some Victorian hospitality and improving their game with some locally-based help.
The team of 12 trained at MCC Kew Sports Club under former Indian Commonwealth Games coach Richard Gale – on a mission to improve their delivery technique.
The visit came about with Malaysian bowls hero Safuan Said playing in the Taylor Bowls Premier Division for MCC Kew this season.
The Labuan team played demonstration matches against Flemington-Kensington Bowls Club – as part of that club’s celebrations to officially switch on their new lights – and Armadale BC.
