Echuca seeking Greenkeeper

Echuca Bowls Club (EBC) established 1918 is located in northern Victoria and is currently seeking an experienced qualified Greenkeeper/ Grounds Person. The position is full time and will commence mid to late July. Their current Greenkeeper is moving on after 23 years dedicated service.

The EBC is a volunteer driven club with approximately 160 members. Their club has four full size tifdwarf greens. These greens are often rated as the best kept greens in the area.

The applicant should have previous experience in greens maintenance and a sound knowledge of required machinery and chemicals. Experience in turf management including prior knowledge in a similar role will be preferable. The applicant will have a professional demeanour, high levels of initiative, have a great work ethic and the ability to work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate all types of machinery involved with maintaining greens and surrounds
• Maintain watering systems
• All maintenance and labour required to showcase our greens and surrounds
• Purchase all required materials relative to the ongoing maintenance of position
• The successful applicant will report directly to the EBC Board of Management
• Open club daily.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience in a similar roll at a bowls club
• Have Certificate III in sports turf management or equivalent
• Be reliable and honest with a sound work ethic
• Be a self-starter, working independently and having excellent time management skills
• Have excellent organisational and communication skills
• Understand, comply and be pro-active with OH&S in the work place
• Have experience with chemical and fertiliser applications, documentation and equipment
• Work flexible hours including some weekend work.
