Seeking Bowls Coach/Coordinator
The Hoppers Crossing Club is seeking a hands on professional to fulfil the role of Bowls Coach/Co-Ordinator.
The successful applicant will report directly to Hoppers Crossing Club CEO.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Bowls Coach/Coordinator is the focal point for the overall co-ordination of Lawn Bowls at the Hoppers Crossing Club Ltd.
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
- The effective co-ordination, participation in and development of bowling activities at the club.
- To promote the game of bowls throughout the community.
- To improve the competitiveness of the club in all areas of bowls eg: Pennants.
- Introduce additional bowls events Eg: Tournaments, Corporate, Social & Barefoot bowls.
- To improve player skills.
- Promote and grow a school’s program to comply with Bowls Victoria standards.
- To attract sponsorship. Report & Liaise with the CEO/ Board and Bowls Committee details of sponsorship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To Operate within the constitution of the Hoppers Crossing Club Ltd and the Hoppers Bowls Club.
- To attend, report at tournament and bowls meetings to effectively co-ordinate the smooth running of major bowls, special events and the preparation of the yearly bowls calendar.
- To support, assist & liaise with the Bowls committee and to attend meetings when and as required.
- Promote the Bowls Carnivals/Tournaments and activities associated with club events and championships, including pennants.
- To attend, support and chair the Pennant selection committee.
- To communicate all correspondence in relation to bowls matters to the Bowls Committee, including visitations by other bowling/social clubs.
- To attend coaches’ meetings.
- Research, develop, recommend, and administer innovative strategies to enhance the game of bowls.
- Ensure that the Bowls Committee is kept informed of all relevant issues.
- To ensure that the bowls operation adhere to all Hoppers Crossing Ltd policies, procedures and legislation.
CLUB MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- To be the central focus person between the club and the bowlers.
- To communicate and update the schedule of upcoming Bowls events, including visitations from other clubs and sporting organisations.
- To communicate all bowls related correspondence to required areas.
- Demonstrate Safe Work Practices in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and other safety requirements.
MARKETING REQUIREMENTS:
- To actively promote the club, in house and sporting events, to members, visitors and the wider community.
- To actively promote, assist and implement membership drives in the local community and in schools.
- To provide excellent customer service to all persons, through telephone and on-line enquiries.
- To seek sponsorship deals, in conjunction with the club and the Bowls Committee.
DEVELOPMENT/TRAINING/RECRUITMENT:
- Developing and implementing player coaching and skill development programs, in conjunction with other internal coaches, for all bowling standards.
- To promote the Hoppers Crossing Club Ltd pathway to entice bowlers to join the club.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High level of Bowls Australia coaching Accreditation.
- High level of bowling achievements.
- Working with children certification.
- First Aid Certification.
- Registered Clubs operations.
