Seeking Bowls Coordinator
Essendon BC was established in 1885 and has a long and proud history of success in Metropolitan bowls. It prides itself on being ‘welcoming and friendly, and where the best bowlers want to play’. With many current and former state representatives, winners of national and state championships and 2x Premier Division titles, elite performance is a key part of the vision and future.
With a very forward-looking board who are focused on creating something special, we now are seeking to fill key roles that are vital to ongoing and future success of the club. These roles are a critical aspect to building on-green quality performances, strengthening of the existing membership and local communities and continuing the journey to excellence.

BOWLS COORDINATOR
Essendon BC has developed a new role for a Bowls Coordinator. With two high class greens (tift and synthetic), and a multitude of social, community and competitive bowls requirements, an opportunity exists for a passionate and energetic person to get involved in a growing club that has big plans into the future, and an opportunity to get in on the ground level.
Responsibilities
To coordinate and administer all aspects of bowls competitions and programs, including community ‘barefoot’ bowls and local programs, club events and sponsored tournaments and competitions, including liaising with stakeholders where required.
Introduce new programs and competitions to enhance inclusiveness and grow participation.
Implement Community programs and engagement to successfully involve schools and the local community to increase participation and grow the club.
Build and develop pathway programs from grassroot to elite levels, including working with Bowls Director and Head Coach re development of existing members.
Market, manage and operate ‘barefoot’ bowls requirements, including growth in existing numbers, operational protocols and delivering in a safe and friendly environment.
Deliver results that meet budgets and forecasts specific to position.
Skills and qualifications
Strong people skills and ability to lead, engage and communicate with volunteers and members to deliver outstanding experiences for all involved.
Experience/capability in building strategic networks and relationships, and building events and competitions, including project managing operations, from marketing to catering, from sponsorship to player participation.
Qualified bowls Coach (desirable) or if an accomplished bowler, a willingness to undertake Bowls Coaching accreditation courses.
Excellent written and verbal skills, computer literacy and financial analysis to assess outcomes against targets and budgets.
Role Requirements
Working with Children certificate
Accredited bowls coach (Desirable but not critical)
Responsible Serving of Alcohol (Desirable but not critical)
Hours: Will be negotiated with the candidate and based on the energy and passion brought to the role and eagerness to grow participation and activity.
Reporting: Bowls Director
Remuneration and conditions to be negotiated.
