Seeking Retail Assistant
The Dandenong Club is a bustling community club with a variety of hospitality offerings.
Recently, we have added a roof and a carpet green to create a sports stadium feel for lawn bowls. The Bowls Arena has a retail shop housing an extensive range of bowls apparel, equipment, and lawn bowls to attract clients from all over Melbourne. There is a Online Shop also for ordering convenience.
We are seeking an experienced full time Retail Assistant to serve and present the shop to the customers in the best way to increase sales and drive repeat business. You will have retail apparel experience and understand the term “shop” with a priority to welcome, serve and thank each customer in a friendly and welcoming manner.
You will be reporting to the Bowls Co-Ordinator and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the retail shop and its stock and displays.
You must display and possess:
- Knowledge of sporting apparel, preferably lawn bowls.
- Proven retail sales background.
- Ability to develop our Online Sales business.
- You must be a people person, be confident and be able to deal with the general public.
- Be available to work some weekends and public holidays as required for the business.
- Be hard working, a team player and a conscientious worker to drive customer service and sales.
- Familiarity with operation of WordPress, web site and online skills would be helpful but not essential.
