Spring clean your green…
A message from BIOscapes Group. The industry leaders in greens construction.
It’s the time of the year to be pulling ditch carpets out of ditches and giving them a good clean through.
You can do this by removing leaf litter and hosing the ditches. If your ditches are rock and gravel stick with the removal of debris rather than hosing. Concrete ditches would benefit from a good hose.
The next step is to give your carpet or synthetic surface a good sweep with a factory floor sweeper.
Now to freshen up the lines – this is usually a unique process to the club.
Algaecide is the next step. Give the entire green a spray with a recommended algaecide. If you’re not sure which one to use, give us a call on 1300 4BIO BIO (1300 4 246 246). Avoid all chlorine and chlorine based algaecides. This will shorten the lifespan of your synthetics and in some cases turn them white. You will also want to check the requirements of your warranty if you have a more recent green surface.
At this stage, it would be beneficial to put some Baygon powder into the ditches to reduce ant infestations. Ants, as small as they are, can get into the timbers and carpets causing costly damage.
The final step is to re-install your ditch carpets.
Your green should now be looking fresh and ready for play.
