Get Active Kids $200 voucher program

Become a Get Active Kids Vouchers Activity Provider Today!

Bowls Victoria strongly urges all Bowls Clubs, especially those who seek to engage juniors, to be aware of the Get Active Kids Voucher Program

Across the first three rounds of the Get Active Kids Voucher Program, more than 33,000 vouchers have been redeemed with only four applications being received for Bowls, representing 0.01% of all vouchers presented.

The State Government has provided notice of the fourth round of the popular Program that includes two significant changes for eligible children interested in Bowls and for Bowls Clubs.

Previously, families finding it difficult to afford the costs would pay upfront and then be reimbursed through the Get Active Kids Voucher Program.  This year Bowls Clubs can register as a provider, which allows families to sign their kids up by using the $200 voucher, and the Club redeems the voucher from the State Government, removing the need for upfront costs.

This includes costs associated with registration, club fees, equipment, and uniforms.

The key changes are summarised below:

  1. Families apply for the $200 voucher before paying any upfront costs.
  2. Clubs register to accept the voucher and redeem the value from the Government.

To be eligible for registration as an activity provider, bowls clubs must:

  • Be an incorporated entity registered with the appropriate regulator;
  • Possess an active Australian Business Number (ABN); &
  • Be affiliated with Bowls Victoria.

The program is open to Victorian children aged up to 18, named on a valid Commonwealth Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, and named on a valid Medicare Card at the time of application.

Clubs interested in conducting or seeking more information on commencing a junior program can contact the Participation Team at Bowls Victoria or their local Regional Bowls Manager for access to support, including program resources, key contacts, and promotion.

The full eligibility criteria and conditions of registration are available in the Program Guidelines. Registration is quick, easy and will only take a few minutes.
