U18 VIC v TAS Test Series Announced
Bowls Victoria, in conjunction with Bowls Tasmania, is pleased to announce that planning is underway for an Under 18 Test Series. The series is scheduled to be held in Launceston, Tasmania, this July.
Subject to any future COVID restrictions, Bowls Victoria will send a State side comprising 5 boys and 5 girls to Tasmania, to compete from July 9th to July 11th, 2021.
Our Victorian U18 State selectors will meet in the next week to select a side, based on performances at events and championships held during the past 12 months. This Series will also allow selectors to potentially trial new talent.
It is important to note that the Under 18 Talent Search will still go ahead as planned, on July 3rd, as a platform to identify U18 talent for future state sides. The event will be used as a pathway to select squads, from which a Victorian Under 18 side will be selected, to compete at the National U18 Championships in Broadbeach (QLD) this October.

Please note: Due to COVID, at this time we cannot guarantee that the Under 18 Test Series against Tasmania will go ahead. Bowls Victoria will monitor the situation in our state, along with the Tasmanian State Government’s restrictions on border entry. We expect that a final decision will be made quite close to the planned competition start date, and whilst we understand this may make planning more difficult, we want to give the Series every opportunity to go ahead, which will require allowing sufficient time for border and travel restrictions to ease.
