Pre-Season 9’s has arrived!

by Team BV

We’re delighted to announce a new competition, available to all clubs and regions across Victoria. Designed to take the hassle out of organising pre-season games, this new competition offers a variety of formats across a short period of time, for those who want a taster of what inter-club competition is all about.

The 9 players will play in the following format:

•             1 x rink of 4’s, playing 15 ends.

•             1 x rink of 2-bowl triples, playing 18 ends.

•             1 x rink of 3-bowl pairs, playing 18 ends.

This mixed format offers clubs the unique chance to trial players in various positions within a team/rink in the lead up to finalising pennant rinks.

Entries will be taken via your region, for Metro clubs entries are now open and clubs can enter via the link below.

For regional areas (outside of Metro Melbourne) each region will communicate with clubs the format of the divisions. With regional Victorian pennant being played on different dates throughout the state, regions will also set their own dates, with the fixtures and results being managed within BowlsLink. Bowls Victoria will be managing the set-up of all competitions within BowlsLink for all regions.

Regions have been asked to submit an expression of interest to participate in this new competition by no later than 4th July, 2021. If you represent your region and have not received an email from BV about pre-season 9’s please email Jimmy Whitehead to confirm your participation. Regions will be supplied with online entry for your clubs.

How it works – Metro Melbourne

• 3 x divisions played on the weekend – Saturday at 12.00pm
