Haug joins the BV team
Bowls Victoria is excited to announce the appointment of Andrew Haug to the role of General Manager Commercial Operations.
The GM Commercial Operations role includes management of business growth, business development, commercial partnerships, facilities, as well as assisting to oversee events, media and marketing.
Haug, holding two degrees, a Doctor of Business Administration (VU) and a Masters of Business Marketing, also has 25 years’ experience in commercial, strategic and senior executive management within the Australian sporting landscape across a range of organisations such as GTR Events, Cycling Victoria, Western Bulldogs, Fernwood Women’s Health Clubs and Deakin University.
Bowls Victoria CEO Tony Sherwill was chuffed with the appointment, being fully aware of the importance of commercial growth to minimise the unhealthy reliance BV places on affiliation fees.
“I’m confident we’ve found someone with the vision, passion and capacity to lead the commercial side of BV into the future”, said Sherwill.
Haug’s strong experience crosses several organisations and commercial partners of household name brands. So well-versed in the field, Haug has also turned his hand to university lecturing to help shape leaders of the future.
“Teaching has given me a valuable perspective, and along with the experience I’ve gained at organisations like AFL clubs and large-scale events such as the Jayco Herald Sun Tour, I’m ready to contribute to bowls.”
“For more than 15 years I have focussed on the commercialisation of assets and intellectual property to develop fully interactive sponsorship campaigns for numerous global and iconic brands. Now I am excited to see what can be done at Bowls Victoria”, said Haug.
Bowls Victoria congratulates Andrew Haug on his appointment and wish him well in the new role. He will commence on 19th April 2021, and can be contacted on andrew@bowlsvic.org.au.
