Bowls Victoria appoints new Finance Director

by Team BV

Following Ken Warburton’s tireless efforts as Bowls Victoria’s Finance Director for the past 6 years, we thank Ken for his invaluable contributions to our sport and wish him the best as he no doubt slaps the sunscreen on and enjoys a roll at his club, Middle Park.

Subsequent to the November Board meeting, Bowls Victoria is excited to announce the appointment of our new Finance Director Angus (Gus) MacIsaac.

Gus comes with a wealth of financial and business experience, retiring only recently after 37 years in the Tax Accounting and Business Management sector. 1993 saw Gus founding Walters and Partners, a CPA Accounting Tax and Business Services Practice, with a focus on challenging the status quo, and changing how to best deliver financial services to their valued clients for the better. As a result, his leadership saw the firm grow to upwards of 20 staff, a significant size for a suburban practice.

Away from his career, Gus is of course a passionate bowler, with years of experience at Club Committee level. Gus spoke of his appointment.
“It’s an honour to be appointed, I’m really excited to be able to give back to the sport that’s given me so much over the last 30 years.”

At the age of 25, Gus joined his first bowls club and hasn’t looked back.
“Bowls should be everyone’s favourite sport, it doesn’t get any better.”

A sentiment proven by Gus’ 500 plus Pennant games, four individual Club Singles Titles and a Club Life Membership.

Jumping straight into business this week, Gus commented on BV’s current financial standing.
“On my reading the organisation appears to be in great shape.”

However, in the COVID era, Gus is far from complacent, but looks forward to the challenges ahead.
