Ottobre joins the BV team
Bowls Victoria is excited to announce the appointment of Matthew Ottobre to the newly developed role of Club Education and Training Manager.
The Club Education and Training Manager will lead, manage and drive the areas of Club Workforce Education, Club Governance Training, Club Support (including BowlsLink), Coaching, Officiating and Member Support in accordance with the Bowls Victoria Strategic Plan.
“As an experienced educator and coach, there is no question that building connected relationships is crucial to the progress and success of the clubs within our Victorian Bowls community” said Ottobre.
Matt is ideally suited to the role, having completed his Bachelor of Education and working in the education sector for twenty years. Matt combines his experience with a love of Bowls and is a Club Coach, National Umpire and former Club Secretary.
“Since I was able to play competitive sport I have embraced belonging to a sporting club. Sporting clubs have allowed me to enjoy the sports I love as a participant and have also taught me important life lessons as I’ve become more involved in working behind-the-scenes on various committees” said Ottobre.
Matt has previously coached our Victorian representative team at the Australian Schools Super Series event in Tweed Heads last August and will no doubt become a familiar face and name around Victoria. He will commence in the role on 1 July 2020.
“It is my belief that our sporting clubs often act as lifelines for their members and are pillars of our local communities. Within my current bowls club, I enjoy working with my members, applying my administration skills and teaching experience to setting up structures that can educate and enable our members to achieve their goals” said Ottobre.
Bowls Victoria congratulate Matt on his appointment and wish him well in his new role.
