2019 Junior League closes out its first exciting season

In 2019 Fitzroy Victoria Bowling and Sports Club played host to the inaugural Junior League competition. Ran across 5 Sunday mornings, 10 teams, representing 7 metro clubs, fought for the title of Junior League Champions.

Sunday December 1^st saw 2 semifinals played between Moonee Valley and Elwood and Fitzroy (2) vs Berwick. Elwood beat Moonee Valley 8-4, 8-7 and Berwick defeated Fitzroy 9-3, 6-4.

In a lively Grand Final, we saw Berwick take on Elwood. Berwick who were the team to beat all season were too strong for Elwood, taking out the title of Junior League Champions 6-3, 8-5.

Champions: Berwick BC – Blake Keel, Mitchell Keel, Carli Morrison

Runners Up: Elwood BC – Angus Murphy, Liam Murphy, Alex Angelopoulos and Xing Yi Jiang (Jason)

Bowls Victoria would like to thank Fitzroy Victoria Bowling Club for hosting the league, Peter Hille for his support in coordinating the competition, parents, friends and families and finally, the 7 clubs that competed in the 2019 League. Mulgrave Country Club, Moonee Valley Bowls Club, Richmond Union Bowling Club, Fitzroy Victoria Bowling and Sports Club, Hawthorn Bowling Club, Elwood Bowls Club and Berwick Bowling Club.
