Wrap Up: 2019 Junior Bowls Classic
The Junior Bowls Classic was held again in 2019 at Churchill Waverley Golf and Bowls Club, after a permanent, more suitable date change. The annual event was moved from January to September to hopefully see an increase in participants. The change of date was extremely favourable with 60 juniors entering in the one day tournament.
20 teams battled it out in two bowls triple format, playing two games. The winner was determined by the best two game winner with the highest points.
In third place was Hayley Hancock, Jorja Ponton and Ben Fletcher, Runners Up – Liam McInnes, Jacob Cartwright and Joshua Cartwright and the winners of the 2019 Victorian Junior Bowls Classic were Koby Cromie, Liam Turner and Grant McLaren.
A massive thank you to Churchill Waverley Golf and Bowls Club for hosting, their volunteers for assisting on the day and event sponsors DSG Bowls Shop and Schweppes for their ongoing support by providing water and prizes for the kids for the third time running.
