Day 3 Wrap: Australian Schools Super Series

by

The 2019 Australian Schools Super Series came to a close today with several young Victorians set to return home with a medal.

For Victoria B, it was a solid afternoon for Tyson Cromie who went up against ex Victorian Kira Bourke in the singles to take out the Silver medal. He then backed this up with a Bronze in the pairs event with playing partner Olivia Slade.

Victoria A of Lachlan Seears and Jarryd Davies (s) also head home with a Silver medal after their second-place finish in the pairs event. Victoria C of Akasha Fortune, Koby Cromie and Olivia Cartwright (s) who were playing for a Bronze in the Triples finished in 4th place.

In what has been an excellent three days of competition that showcased the future talent of Australian bowls, the 2019 Australian Schools Merit Side and Emerging Australian School Side were announced, which included six Victorians.

Congratulations to all our young Victorians selected to play this week, together with our support staff including Coach Matthew Ottobre and Team Manager Darci Tierney for their hard work. All scores and results for the week, including todays finals, can be found on the Bowls Victoria website.

We look forward to the 2020 Australian Schools Super Series. Please keep an eye on the Bowls Victoria website and Facebook page for trial and event information.
