Six Victorian Girls added to U18 Nationals

by

Bowls Victoria will field a second team of five girls that will be named in the Emerging Victorian Team who will make up the eighth team in the Under-18 Nationals.

Lily Dodd, Dusty Taylor-Irwin, Bridget Hayes, Katie Lewis, Olivia Slade and Akasha Fortune have all been selected to represent on the National stage.

Victoria was provided with the opportunity to field a second team after the ACT was unable to. One Victorian player was also nominated to represent Western Australia after they required one extra to fill their girls’ team.

Victoria will head into this year’s National Championship as the defending champions after claiming the Robert Middleton Overall State Champion team trophy in 2018.

The Australian Under-18 Championships will be contested from October 1-4, 2019 at Bendigo Bowling Club.

The week will see the best under-18 players from each State and Territory go head to head in a five-a-side format that includes singles, pairs, triples and fours events.

Congratulations to all players on their selection.
