Bowls Victoria announce partnership with Bun + Oven
Bowls Victoria and Bun + Oven have come together to support the Victorian Sport Development Initiative of the Year, Bowling with Babies.
Bowling with Babies brings new and expecting mums and dads together for a social game of bowls over a coffee and conversation, with their baby.
Since its inception in 2017, Bowling with Babies has brought over 1000 new and expecting parents together and allowing them to connect with their local community, meet new people, and spend time outside with their loved ones.
Bun + Oven is a unique option of support and education for women during pregnancy. Continuity of care is a known benefit in pregnancy to ensure women feel safe, heard and empowered. Bun + Oven compliments each individuals model of care provider by offering that familiar face and a community in which to gain appropriate and tailored information.
Bowls Victoria Participation Manager Neil Gray who created and manages the Bowling with Babies program said “the success of the program has been excellent for the sport getting new faces into bowls clubs and often engaging new volunteers at our partner clubs but the real joy has been seeing the enjoyment the mums and babies have.
Partnering with Millie and her team at Bun + Oven will mean more mums become aware of the program and can enjoy the program in future years. We see the service that Bun + Oven provide as being invaluable to the mums so the partnership makes sense in looking after the next generation of mums and bubs for Bowling with Babies.”
