Day 3 Wrap: Champion of State Pennant (Saturday)
Champion of State Pennant (Saturday) came to an end today with a thrilling round five.
In Section A, Traralgon (Strzelecki) won their last game over City of Frankston (Peninsula Casey) 48-39, Shepparton Golf (Central Goulburn Murray) had a thrilling victory over Metro club Essendon to secure their finals berth 34-33, and Wodonga (Ovens & Murray) defeated Kerang (Murray Mallee) 49-30.
Section B saw wins to an undefeated Bendigo East (Bendigo Campaspe) over Stawell (Wimmera) 49-33, Ocean Grove (Geelong) got over Ballarat Memorial (Central Victoria) 45-35, and West Sale (Gippsland) defeated Portland RSL (West Coast) 46-40.
With all sectional games run and won, it was Bendigo East (Bendigo Campaspe) and Shepparton Golf (Central Goulburn Murray) who went head to head in the final. The two local teams put on a great show of sportsmanship for spectators, but in the end it was Shepparton Golf who owned the day winning the 2018/19 title 58-45
