Lawn bowlers from around Victoria will descend on Bendigo next week for Bowls Victoria’s State Champions Week.

Hosted by Bendigo East Bowling Club, the annual week-long event sees bowlers from all playing levels roll up and showcase the sport to regional Victoria.

Wesley Fawaz, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Bowls Victoria, is delighted to see this unique event return to Bendigo.

“We’re delighted that the City of Greater Bendigo has continued its generous support of State Champions Week. An event like this provides a wonderful opportunity to support regional Victoria and showcase the inclusiveness and diversity of our sport.”

“Bendigo is a vibrant regional city that offers numerous tourism and entertainment options which assist in enhancing the experience of those attending this week.”

City of Greater Bendigo Manager for Tourism and Major Events Terry Karamaloudis said the City was pleased to attract such a valuable event to the region that provided significant economic value to the local area.

“We’ve been supporting the event at Bendigo East Bowling Club since 2012 and very much welcome all of the players who will travel from all around Victoria to take part in a great showcase for the sport,” Mr Karamaloudis said.

“We’re delighted that Bendigo East Bowling Club continues to host this popular sporting event in the calendar.”
